Silverwood Lake is a large body of water located in the San Bernardino Mountains above Hesperia. This lake contains large populations of both largemouth and striped bass. These fish feed mostly on shad and rainbow trout so using a lure that imitates these fish will increase your chances at landing a big fish. The dam area and near the boat docks are two really good areas that you definately want to fish and they are also the most accessible shore fishing areas. Fishing from a boat will give you access to many areas that cannot be accessed by shore anglers and you can get away from the crowds which can be large during the Summer and on weekends. Be sure to check the weather reports before heading to Silverwood because it can be really windy at times.

Silverwood Lake Information
Silverwood Lake is located via Highway 138, 11 miles east of I-15; or 20 miles north of San Bernardino via Highways 18 & 138. Silverwood contains 1,000 surface acres of water with 13 miles of shoreline. Silverwood is open year round; April 1st through September 30th - 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.; October 1st through March 31st - 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Boat rentals are available at the marina. Swimming, water-skiing and jet-skis are allowed in designated areas of the lake. Silverwood has 136 individual campsites, no hook-ups, suitable for both tent and RV's, showers are available, reservations recommended.
